A few months ago, the cheeky pranksters from Melbourne’s Everfresh Studio won the honor of moving into the NGV STUDIO for a one-month residency. After a bloody beat down where three other graff crews were flung far away from the top dog place (OK, it really wasn’t like that at all), the boys moved into their temporary home a couple of weeks ago…like they actually packed up their entire studio – scrap books, sketches, clippings, markers, paints, milk crates, and their beloved NBA Jam arcade game – and moved into Fed Square.

Now, if you’ve never had the pleasure of visiting their actual studio, I can tell you that it’s very dark, cold, cavernous and dungeon-like with walls that look like they’re about to cave in and cause one of those mysterious giant sinkholes. Their studio is very, very cool, but it’s also quite a welcoming change to be able to see their stuff…and the boys themselves…in natural lighting.

They’re also running an exhibition of all that is Everfresh related – a bunch of their works and collections of stuff like markers, press clippings and sketches, as well as a graff van installation they’ve done especially for the space. The end of their residency will be marked with an event to showcase the work they’ve done while they’re at their temporary space, so watch out for the details here.

Everfresh Studio@NGV STUDIO, Federation Square. Until 08 July 2011.
